Little Acorns are seeking a fun, dynamic and enthusiastic playworker to join our small, close-knit team. As a Play Worker, you truly are the bread and butter of the business, working with our amazing children and families daily. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe and engaging playroom, whilst being supported by caring and dedicated colleagues. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for making a difference. Responsibilities:
– Collecting children from school, completing registers, liaising with school staff and colleagues.
– Supporting and planning workshops, games, and educational activities.
– Being dedicated to learning new skills and undertaking training as necessary (Scottish Social Services Council).
– Managing behaviour and encouraging positive interactions.
– Ensuring the safety and well-being of all children.
– Assisting with snack preparation and serving.
– Being fun, understanding and empathetic.
– Kind, caring and dedicated attitude.
– Passionate about making a difference.
– Promoting a safe and secure environment.
Requirements:
Working Pattern – Monday to Thursday (Term-time) 2:30 – 6:00pm.
Job location – East Craigs Church Centre, EH12 8XP.
Qualifications within childcare are desirable, but not essential. We are happy to support new staff acquire training opportunities. Experience is also desirable, but not essential. We are very happy to support anyone looking to get into childcare! It’s such as rewarding career, therefore we feel strongly about supporting anyone who is interested to get their foot in the door.
*Please note – you must successfully register with the PVG Scheme as part of your role and not be barred from working with children and young people. Two references are required to be held on file should an offer of employment be made. You are required to be registered with the SSSC as part of your role, this includes a mandatory training requirement. Annual fees apply.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £11.50-£13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 14 per week
