The Role

The Placement Coordinator provides direct service to JVS  clients by providing job search and placement support in one-on-one and group settings. The Placement Coordinator supports and  manages a caseload of clients, supporting them in their job search by providing them with advice, strategies, application assistance, direct feedback, and networking opportunities, and ensuring they articulate and use their strengths in the application process. The Placement Coordinator works in group and individual settings to motivate and keep clients accountable to their job search goals, with the ultimate goal of connecting their clients to high-quality jobs.

Scope

  • Provide 1:1 coaching for clients seeking a full-time job after completing JVS training.
  • Lead client job readiness by assisting with reviewing resumes, LinkedIn profile creation, interviewing, elevator pitch, and networking.
  • Facilitate small group Job Search Instruction with Pathways and JSA clients
  • Work individually with clients to understand their needs; support clients in setting and meeting goals related to their job search, and provide encouragement, feedback, and motivation to keep clients on track
  • Provide information and guidance about how to land specific jobs, including information about job market trends and workplace expectations.
  • Stay up to date on current & upcoming placement opportunities
  • Collaborate with training coordinators to establish clients’ goals and assess readiness for employment.
  • Maintain regular contact with the Strategic Partnerships team to stay current on training institutions and programs for continued education opportunities.
  • Establishing strong cross-functional agency relationships. Research departmental job search trends within JVS.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Business Development, Manager of Business Development, Pathways Program Directors, JSA Manager, and coordinators to measure and track  individual client success.
  • Match clients with appropriate open positions; provide excellent customer service/communication to employer partners before, during, and after placement
  • Assists in collecting and entering clients’ job offer letters / verification of employment (VOEs) into Salesforce.
  • Track and record information about activities (communication via emails, phone calls, chats, video) with clients into Salesforce, following JVS guidelines for on-time data entry.
  • Communicate clients’ challenges, successes, and needs with the Placement team.
  • Create quarterly reports about client trends for the Manager of Business Development and Director of Business Development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Exceptional relationship building and relationship management skills; strong ability to coach individuals and motivate them as they experience challenges.
  • Professional written and oral communication.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  •  Flexible and adaptable. Able to pivot quickly to identify changing priorities.
  • Strong presentation, public speaking, and group facilitation skills.
  • Able to work independently and in teams.
  • Able to meet deadlines and objectives and communicate challenges with your supervisor and other collaborators.
  • Model professional presentation/behavior.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with diverse staff and clients.
  • Demonstrated experience in evaluating job search curricula and trends.
  • Demonstrated experience providing direct service employment services to clients from diverse backgrounds who may present multiple barriers to success.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technology: Salesforce, SLACK, Microsoft, Google, and Asana.
  • Familiarity with DEI practices.
  • Two (2) years of recent experience working with adults in employment development, vocational training, career services, community college, or adult education setting.

  • Annual Salary: $65,000 – $70,000
