Full-Time Performance Coach London Aquatic Centre (LAC) – Olympic Diving

British Swimming – Posted by waltonk London, England, United Kingdom

Job Description

British Swimming is seeking two Performance Diving coaches to provide world-class standard coaching and inspirational leadership to programme divers with the objective of achieving medal success at senior World and Olympic level.

Both posts will work under the direction of the London Aquatic Centre Head Coach, each with responsibility for developing an identified group of divers.  The performance coaches will also work as part of one team across the London programme, and with other GLL diving coaches in the Dive London programme to ensure full alignment.

The roles will involve establishing individualised performance plans for divers covering all aspects of water and land-based training and preparation. Performance coaches will be expected to agree annual process and performance goals with the LAC Head Coach and GB Head Coach, Olympic Diving and will work collaboratively with the British Swimming Sports Science & Medicine support team, overseen by the Diving Head of Sports Science & Medicine.

As coaches who will be integral to the Olympic Diving programme, you will have a key role to play working supportively in the Diving coaching network and in particular with other coaches employed in different performance centres, embracing the ethos of British Swimming and a culture of ‘winning well in water’.  These posts will be expected to coach on national teams at camps and competitions when selected and will also provide technical coaching development for other identified programme activity (either at other venues or at the LAC).

The successful candidates will have extensive on-deck coaching experience, including delivering coaching at Olympic level. Coaches will be able to demonstrate an ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team to drive individual athlete development and this will include proven experience in maintaining formal athlete tracking systems, detailed season planning and use of a review framework.  British Swimming will be looking for candidates with the key ‘world class’ coaching attributes, such as presenting compelling cases for improved practices, acting as a positive influence at all times, setting high professional standards and promoting full commitment to the programme. The successful candidates will also demonstrate how they continually set stretch targets and challenge themselves professionally.
