About The Role
Reporting to the People Director, the People & HR Associate supports effective team working for our global People-Operations team. The role is both external & internal facing supporting people related functions that ensure a seamless experience for staff, and that The Sunrise Project is positioned to meet its people-related compliance and governance obligations.
This role takes a project management approach to team coordination, and supports the People Director and team to prioritise, plan, prepare and follow-through. In the process, you’ll develop a deep understanding of our whole organization and its People Operations functions and gain practical experience in supporting a scaling global organization from a people perspective.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provides logistical and administrative coordination, and support for the People-Operations team across time zones including planning; meeting coordination/administration; publishing team updates; preparing presentations and materials; supporting trainings/awareness sessions – to optimise team resources and support the delivery of team-organisational goals.
2. Acts as a first point of contact for the People-Operations team and responds to staff and public HR related enquiries: responds to enquiries; creates and/or improves self-help intranet resources to improve HR service delivery; and tracks and analyses support trends.
3. Uses a suite of IT/HR systems to support key People-Operations administrative functions: recruitment; onboarding; performance and development; rewards and recognition; and offboarding.
4. Optimises daily HR functions and tasks and aligns own work to organisational goals and Sunrise’s values.
5. Delivers on small discrete projects that contribute to our employee experience, engagement levels, and compliance and governance obligations.
6. Must be available to work with the HR Manager in Australia.
Required skills and experience
- Experience in a similar administrative role including grass roots and/or volunteer experience.
- Demonstrated administrative related skills set: organizing and maintaining confidential digital records; scheduling appointments; maintaining calendars; coordinating travel arrangements & itineraries; events; logistics; desktop research; compiling plans and reports.
- Strong collaboration team working skills and internal service orientation.
- A track record of successfully prioritising and delivering on assigned tasks including delivering on small discrete projects.
- Good written, verbal communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving capability (initiative, creativity, analytical skills)
- Competent (basic-intermediate) IT skills working across a suite of software platforms.
- A strong interest in human resources management, and capability to develop higher- level HR competencies.
- A passion for action on climate change and a commitment to social justice
Job requirements
