Temporary Payroll Clerk
Job Description
Premier Talent Partners is seeking a Payroll Clerk to join our client’s Corporate Retail company based in Emeryville, CA. This position is expected to be remote through 2021 and applicants must live within a commutable range of Emeryville. If you are reliable and have strong attention to detail skills – please read on!
Responsibilities:
- Process and distribute manual checks and employee garnishments
- Respond to Unclaimed Property inquiries, address W2 inquiries, perform filing and general administrative support to the payroll team
- Prepare, log, and distribute manual checks
- Address agency garnishment letters, notify employees of new garnishments, scan, and create new electronic garnishment files
- Manage emails sent to the Payroll Unclaimed Property and W2 inbox
- Perform bi-weekly payroll processing and pay-related data entry review and input
- Validate that terminated employees don’t receive duplicate checks
- Tackle change of status form processing
- Assist with payroll processing and audits
- Complete ad-hoc projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Must have strong attention to detail skills and must be reliable
- Adaptable and comfortable with fluid responsibilities
- Able to handle volume while maintaining organization
- Displays strong time management skills and understands/thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Previous payroll experience is desired
- Experience with HR/Payroll applications (Ultimate Software, preferred)
- Prior garnishment experience is required
- Intermediate in Excel skills are preferred
