Full-Time Payroll Bookkeeper – Finance
Job Description
EAC Network seeks a Payroll Bookkeeper for the Finance department, located in Hempstead, NY. The position is full time, Monday-Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM with excellent benefits medical/dental/401K and very generous Paid Time Off (PTO).
Primary Purpose of Job:
The Payroll Bookkeeper is responsible for performing payroll and accounting and related functions for the finance department.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Payroll Functions:
- Responsible for creating and maintaining cost center levels in the Payroll system.
- Follow-up on missing/inaccurate timesheets.
- Initiation of all payroll related Payment Requests with regards to taxes, voluntary deductions, liens, and benefits.
- Creation and posting of monthly payroll adjusting journal entries.
- Maintain a spreadsheet to track over/under hours per pay period.
- Backup for all Payroll functions
- Verify for accuracy and mail all vendor checks on a weekly basis.
- Assemble and code bank deposits for input to cash receipts system
- Assist with Finance Department filing.
- Assist Finance Department with workload as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Finance or related field required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years of Finance or Bookkeeping or related work experience required.
- Excellent communication, organizational, data entry and numerical skills required.
- Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, and email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
