Part-Time Part-time Office Assistant 2 – Tutoring Services

Job Description

Clark College is currently accepting applications for a part-time, permanent hourly Classified Office Assistant 2 position to work approximately 17 hours a week. This position supports the Tutoring Services Department.  The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday with flexible and varying hours depending on the needs of the department.

Position Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Greet and direct students, tutors, and others in a courteous manner.
  • Assist tutors and students with computer sign-in and lab equipment.
  • Provide information about services to students, staff, and faculty.
  • Assist students and tutors with scheduling appointments.
  • Assist program manager and support supervisor with related tasks and duties.
  • Perform a variety of routine clerical duties including, processing documents and records.
  • Utilizing phone and email to effectively communicate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:
Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:

  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of clerical or office experience.

JOB READINESS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, as well as the ability to quickly learn new software systems as required.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
  • The initial appointment will include a 6-month probationary period and the employee will earn permanent status after successfully completing probation.
  • This position is represented by Washington Public Employees Association.
  • Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant’s suitability and competence to perform in the position.

 

 

Supplemental Information

SALARY RANGE: $16.52-$21.26/hour. Step B-M | Range: 32 | Code: 100I
Successful candidates typically start at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases.
