Pay: $22.06 – $24.73 with development opportunities! Part-time Food Service Manager!

As a Food Service Manager, you will be entrusted to work with volunteers in delivering an exceptional client dining experience in an environment that promotes healing through connection.

The Food Service Manager leads our nourishment program and ensures that it is not only functioning but thriving. You will lead, mentor, and assist volunteers to take pride in the meals that we serve. No matter the task, you will need to keep a level head, be able to multitask, and have excellent people skills. You will interact with clients, employees, vendors, volunteers, and other members of management on a consistent basis.

What You’ll Do as a Food Service Manager:

  • Provide leadership support and assist volunteers with daily dinner preparations and serving for sanitation and safety.
  • Establishes quality standards for foods and maintains cleanliness of the facilities in accordance with state or local regulations.
  • Following an approved budget, monitors and maintains inventory levels and purchases food, kitchen equipment, and other supplies as needed.
  • Provides related sanitation, food safety, and other necessary training and supervision to volunteer staff.
  • Plans and prepares snacks and dinners for clients Monday – Thursday.
  • Keeps kitchen organized and clean, including appliances, cabinets, and all inventory.
  • Ensures that all state/local health department, licensing, safety, and nutritional requirements are met.
  • Understands the needs of children with food allergies and implements methods of food cross-contamination avoidance.
  • Utilize food resources that exist in the surrounding community, through local partnerships including upkeeping membership at Food Bank of the Rockies.
  • Strategically connect with farms, restaurants, grocery stores, and other community partners to create a sustainable source of food donations.
  • Works closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure adequate coverage for volunteer chefs/food providers.  Fills in as chef when there is no volunteer or catered food coverage.
  • Support the Office Manager with the inspection of the facilities/equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order
  • Participate in health inspections and third-party food safety inspections
  • Meet the physical demands of lifting, bending, carrying, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 50 lbs. as well as standing for long periods of time.

You’ll be a Great Fit if You Have:

  • 2+ years of foodservice experience in restaurant-grade kitchens
  • Knowledge or experience ordering food and cooking large quantities for up to 200 people
  • Certified Food Protection Manager, Certified Dietary Manager or Food Safety Management Certification (preferred)
  • Willingness to work evenings until 7pm
