Job Summary

Supports Transportation Services Leadership in all aspects of department operations. Serve as primary department contact by resolving customer concerns, leading department events and partnering with internal and external vendors. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to: employee training, onboarding staff, providing feedback on employee performance, participating on Search & Screening Committees, leading special event management, and completing operations tasks. Requires weekend work on rotating basis (generally once a month but may vary based on operations needs).

The core hours of the position are 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM Monday-Friday.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Wisconsin Driver license (or other such valid operator’s permit recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation) and be able to meet or exceed the minimum requirements for driving on state business as detailed here: https://uwm.edu/risk-management/drivers/
• Evidence of proficiency with basic computer skills including the Microsoft Office Products.
• Ability to work in both an office atmosphere and outside in a variety of weather conditions.
• Ability to work on weekends (generally scheduled and on a rotating basis). Typically one weekend a month but subject to change in accordance with operation needs
• Lift and carry up to 10 pounds unassisted and occasionally up to 25 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• Evidence of strong written communication skills.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work with diverse populations.
• Evidence of strong customer service skills.
• Demonstrated experience working in a team environment and working independently.
• High school diploma (or equivalent)
