Full-Time Paralegal – Business Litigation

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Litigation Paralegal with at least two (2) years of experience to join our team. Under the supervision of the Manager of Practice Support Services, this position will work directly with licensed attorneys and assist case teams throughout all phases of litigation including preparation and trial. After an initial period of training, this position is eligible for a hybrid-remote work schedule.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviews and drafts discovery requests, responses, subpoenas, notices, and other court pleadings and documents, including summarizing and highlighting key portions of deposition, hearing, and trial transcripts, as well as medical records.
  • Identifies, collects, and organizes factual evidence, including deposition and witness outlines, and deposition and trial exhibits.
  • Creates organizational systems, including the preparation of annotated binders, for case documents.
  • Completes electronic filings with various entities.
  • Maintains familiarity with court filing procedures, local rules, and individual practices of judges assigned on matters.

 

Experience and Education Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years of experience required
  • Associate’s Degree or a Paralegal Certification is required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.  Equivalent experience in Litigation will be considered in lieu of education.
  • Experience completing electronic filings with various entities is required.
  • Experience in Relativity software strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Must possess attention to detail, ability to balance multiple projects, and strong time management skills.
  • Must possess professionalism and interpersonal skills so as to be able to work well with employees at all levels within the organization and maintain all information in the strictest of confidence.

 

Compensation

For applicants that meet the experience requirements for the role and are physically based in New York City, the expected salary range is $70,000 – $90,000 annually upon commencement of employment.  Starting salary will be determined on an individualized basis with consideration to prior experience and additional qualifications.  This is in addition to a comprehensive benefit package offered by the Firm.
