Full-Time Optician Assistant
Job Description
Premier Talent Partners is looking for a sharp and savvy Opticians Assistant to join our luxury eyewear client’s team in Santa Clara, CA (not remote eligible – onsite attendance required). Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the customer’s prescription and visual requirements to recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, frames, and features as appropriate for each customer
- Provide direct support to customers in selecting, ordering, fitting, and adjusting eyewear; taking facial measurements (including measuring pupillary distance, temple length, bridge, eye size, optical centers, and bifocal placement); taking facial measurements; and ensuring that eyewear meets facial measurements and optical prescriptions under the supervision of the Dispensing Optician
- Welcome customers in a prompt and friendly manner; maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor when performing job duties, especially when interacting with customers
- Address customer needs in a prompt and friendly manner, while actively seeking to understand customer concerns, requests, and expectations
- Understand and handle customer complaints regarding products, services, sales, or other matters with honesty and integrity, while taking initiative to find appropriate resolutions
- Perform sales activities including providing customer assistance, processing payments, sales, and returns, and responding to customer inquiries
- Inform customers of the store’s return and replacement policy, product and pricing information, warranty, and the proper use and care of eyewear
- Foster a vibrant and friendly atmosphere by building good communication and strong relationships with colleagues, customers, and managers, while maintaining a positive attitude
- Attend all relevant meetings and assist with ad-hoc administrative needs as necessary
Qualifications:
- High school diploma is required
- Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Representative, Sales Associate or similar role
- Flexibility to work various shifts
- Understanding of the retail sales process
- Familiarity with consumer behavior principles
- Knowledge of inventory stocking procedures
- Basic math skills
- Track record of achieving sales quotas
- Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
- Ability to perform in fast-paced environments
