Operations Co-Ordinator At Our Streets Now
Salary: £25-35k (pro rata) (dependent on experience)
Job Type: Freelancer; Fixed term contract (12 months)
Hours: 22.5 hours a week (flexible over how many days)
Introduction
We have an exciting and unique opportunity to join our successfully evolving grassroots, youth-led movement as an Operations Coordinator.
This is a hands-on role which will be pivotal to establishing the administrative and operational foundations of our Community Interest Company.
As a key member of the team, you will lead on setting up new systems and building operational capacity, working collaboratively alongside the co-founders, the Board and teams of volunteers and freelancers.
We are looking for someone who has a clear passion for the ethos, impact and ambition of Our Streets Now. We are actively seeking candidates from a range of cultures and communities, with different lived and professional experiences that bring with them important and unique knowledge. Being a small team, we will work closely, though you’ll have the autonomy, responsibility and freedom to bring your own creativity, drive and skills to the role. The role is super flexible, and you’ll have the ability to work the hours required around any other commitments you may have.

What you’ll be doing:
- Ensure the smooth running of the operational functions of Our Streets Now.
- Build and implement operational processes that meet the requirements of a Community Interest Company.
- Be responsible for the administration of the organisation, including finance, governance, and ICT and to act as the first point of contact for all incoming enquiries.
- Ensure that all legal and statutory requirements are met and there is compliance with all relevant legislation.
- Lead on developing organisational policies and procedures relating to GDPR, equality, diversity and inclusion, safeguarding and other key policies.
- Implement the strategic roadmap for Our Streets Now.
- Participate in Board meetings, act as conduit between core members and reporting back to the Board, and support subcommittees where necessary.
- Be responsible for liaising with journalists, preparing quotes and press releases and co-ordinating spokespeople for key media opportunities.
- Promote and maintain our values enabling the very best from collaborators, volunteers and partners.

- Excellent administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
- Prior experience of solving operational problems, offering solutions and creating and implementing new processes.
- A solid working knowledge of statutory requirements, such as GDPR, safeguarding, or governance requirements.
- Collaborative team player with a positive can-do attitude.
