We are currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our Division of Paediatric Medicine -Inpatient, Intermediate Care Unit and Streamlined Care Unit. This position will involve direct clinical care within our paediatric medicine units, alternatively supporting the Intermediate Care Unit and the Streamlined Care unit within the PaediatrIc Medicine program.
Your role in the Intermediate Care Unit and Streamlined Care Unit will be to partner in the provision of comprehensive acute care for children admitted within the Paediatric Medicine service. The Nurse Practitioner will be fully integrated into the multi-disciplinary team, functioning at full scope of practice, promoting clinical excellence and continuity of care for patients. As a Nurse Practitioner in these areas, you will be required to work some weekends. You will provide leadership and promote excellence in family centred nursing care through the five main role components of expert practice, education, consultation, research and leader/change agent.

Here’s What You’ll Need
- Master’s of Nursing or equivalent with a clinical focus.
- Completion of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program or equivalent.
- Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, preferably within the RN (Extended Class).
- 2 – 5 years of clinical nursing experience (paediatrics preferred).
- Experience in the care of children with medical complexity preferred.
- Ability to act as a change agent, and foster teamwork and consensus.
- Innovative critical thinking skills with excellent communication, public speaking and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of theoretical frameworks and research application is also necessary.
- Understands the importance of and demonstrates ability to foster a culture of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
Employment Type
Temporary Full-Time, 0.8-1.0 FTE. 1 year contract with potential to extend.
