Winmark Corporation is a premier, nationally recognized franchisor of over 1270 resale retail stores in North America, including Once Upon A Child®, Plato’s Closet®, Play It Again Sports®, Music Go Round® and Style Encore®. As a New Store Development Manager, you will support franchisees in opening new stores. You will assist franchisees before their location opens, with developing store layouts, training essential skills, and helping the stores as they open to buy, grand openings to sell, and help create continued training programs. This role also provides consultation regarding standards for the buy process, inventory pricing and mix, merchandising, advertising, staffing and hiring, and other operational areas, as well as training on store operations financial management, and vendor relations.
Primary qualifications for New Store Development Manager role include:
- 2- or 4- year degree preferred in Business Management or related field
- 3+ years experience in retail operations, store design and construction, or similar
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, paired with the ability to present and train small to mid-size groups
- High level of professionalism, tact, and diplomacy
- Demonstrate ethical standards, using confidentiality
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to travel approximately 50%, based on store opening schedules
- Must have a valid driver’s license
The New Store Development Manager role is onsite at Winmark’s Plymouth, Minnesota location, with up to 50% travel to new store locations. Annual salary is $48,000 – $58,000 DOQ, plus discretionary bonus and great benefits package.
