Full-Time Network Expansion Manager
Job Description
Role purpose
The Network Expansion programme is a key enabler for Colt to meet the increasingly global demands of Enterprises and key Wholesale partners. The programme is focused on revenue acceleration initiatives to meet Colt’s business objectives by driving targeted investments to increase the availability of the Colt portfolio – deepening and/ or broadening the existing Colt footprint to address this demand.
The Network Expansion Manager will be responsible for evaluating and driving expansion and optimisation initiatives both within the existing Colt footprint in Europe and other regions. They will be responsible for putting together business cases and co-ordinating cross-functional inputs from CCO and OPE to ensure a coherent regional business development approach and operational accountability to organic expansion initiatives.
This role will also provide critical support for the relevant project managers responsible for the overall success of the site exit, and benefits realisation feedback into CCO.
Key accountabilities
- Compose, create and submit business cases (CPAs) for Network Expansion opportunities, working towards consistent business case methodologies and content reflecting high level Colt strategy; define regional pipeline for investment projects.
- End-to-end project lifecycle – identification, business case creation, approval, benefits tracking – for planned initiatives.
- Local market expertise around market and infrastructure developments impacting high bandwidth strategy and competitor developments.
- Work with local Carrier Relations Managers to negotiate backbone/ space/ power components for network expansion projects; aligned to local procurement strategies and bilateral relationships.
- Act as a key point of contact to Sales & Marketing (CCO) inputs, both at a tactical level to address latent demand and at a strategic level, in line with Colt Board-level initiatives on geographic expansion.
Key performance indicators
- Translate Sales & Marketing strategy into network development plans to drive financial performance.
- Evaluate and drive approvals for business cases for network expansion; accountability during entire project lifecycle.
- Proactively identify strategic/ tactical opportunities within region, e.g. for metro expansion, DC connectivity, new geographies, procurement and savings initiatives.
- Manage successful ROI and incremental revenues on a programme/ project basis
