Salary: $75,000 to $90,000 commensurate with experience

About WomenCount:

WomenCount and the Electing Women Alliance (EWA) work in partnership to close the political gender giving gap and inspire more donors to support Democratic women candidates. Our shared mission is to build communities of informed, intentional donors who come together to elect more women. Although there has been some progress in recent election cycles, women still make up only 28 percent of Congress and 24 percent of governorships. The US ranks 71st in the world for the percentage of women in elected office. And while women candidates rely more heavily on women donors, women make up only 38 percent of all donors.

WomenCount is an online donation platform that supports Democratic women up and down the ballot – from school board to president. EWA is a national network of giving groups that host in-person events for women running for US Senate, governor, and the White House. While WomenCount and EWA are separate efforts, they are integrated operatioally and through shared mission and vision.

About the Position:

The National Groups Manager is a new position that will have responsibilities primarily with EWA, which is currently expanding infrastructure to further support and grow existing giving groups and to start new groups. EWA is currently comprised of groups in Austin, Bay Area, Boston, Chicago, DC, Denver, Los Angeles, New Mexico, New York, Philadelphia, Seattle, St. Louis and Vail with new groups launching in Michigan and Nevada.

The National Groups Manager will work with the Director to develop a plan to support and help grow existing giving groups, the launch of pending new groups, and identify opportunities for new group locations. This role will include consistent, energetic communication with group leaders to share information and best practices and to field questions and receive input on group needs and interests. Additional responsibilities will include evaluating and upgrading the current portfolio of tools and resources offered to groups. This role will include strategic coordination with other team members, including the Engagement Manager, Development Manager, and Programs and Events Manager,  to ensure that giving groups are provided with up-to-date materials, research, data and messaging and the tools to meet fundraising goals for candidates and to sustain and grow their groups.

The National Groups Manager position is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in the intersection of women’s organizations and electoral politics and the desire to strategically and creatively cultivate a powerful, dedicated and joyful community of women supporting women.

Specific opportunities and responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the EWA director to develop and execute an effective and dynamic plan to support and grow existing giving groups and launch new groups;
  • Deploy organizing, networking and relationship-building skills to expand the scope and reach of the EWA network nationally;
  • Update and develop tool-kits, resources, best practices, candidate profiles and necessary materials to support the success of groups;
  • Create and maintain a system to track consistent communication with groups and ensure high frequency and effective contact including providing support and gathering feedback and input from groups;
  • Develop the set of guidelines for a successful group while allowing for local flexibility and varied circumstances;
  • Lead the strategy and growth of the “Donors as Raisers” program increasing the number of women participating as fundraisers at the Presidential level;
  • Inspire increased participation from the giving groups in national EWA events like the DC Convening and national convention;
  • Support groups to effectively use the WomenCount platform for raising for their in-person candidate events;
  • Support the implementation of in-state down ballot candidate support using the WomenCount platform;

Attributes and qualifications:

We recognize that no candidate has all of the following attributes so we encourage you to apply if you have many or most:

  • Three to five years of experience in political or non-profit organizing, community building, relationship and project management, or similar;
  • Capacity to think strategically, work nimbly and creatively leverage opportunities;
  • A track record of commitment to women’s leadership and empowerment;
  • Existing relationships and connections within the national women’s political community is preferable;
  • Outstanding personal and relationship management skills;
  • Ability and desire to hustle, think proactively, take initiative, and be a self-starter;
  • Excellent writing, organizational and time management skills;
  • Willingness to travel for annual convenings, Democratic party convention, in-person team gatherings, etc.
  • Commitment to working collaboratively on an inclusive and collegial team dedicated to joyfully making a significant impact on the women’s political leadership landscape.

Compensation: 

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $75,000 to $90,000 commensurate with experience. WomenCount offers benefits that include health insurance, paid holidays, and vacation. We are also looking forward to building out a more developed benefits package in the future.

Our teams across organizations and the EWA are largely remote and distributed across the country. Those that are close to our Palo Alto office can choose to work in person or on a hybrid basis. This role also involves some expected travel.

At WomenCount and Electing Women Alliance, we like to get things done while also valuing each others’ time and work-life balance. We typically work flexible hours in both remote and hybrid environments.
