Job Description

THE ROLE – Full-time (37.5 hours per week) / Permanent contract / Job description and job pack are available to download from our website

We are looking for a reliable, and proactive Mobile Night Support Worker to join our friendly and dynamic staff team to provide mobile support to our teams in high support 24-hour projects as well as medium support and transitional housing units. You will ensure that our properties are safe, secure, and welcoming through the night. You will support our Night Support Workers across Brighton & Hove and Worthing and carry out mobile duties. These duties will include conducting regular and routine checks of unstaffed supported housing projects for young people, including communal areas, gardens, and the exterior of properties.

You will work alongside other project support staff to maximise the wellbeing of residents by completing 1 to 1 interventions with young people who may be experiencing poor mental health and/or who need medical assistance. You will also upkeep and monitor records to ensure a smooth transition between shifts, including recording all incidents, safeguarding issues and informing the team appropriately. In addition, you will work to prevent any anti-social behaviour from impacting our neighbours and other residents.

The expected working pattern is four nights on and four nights off across seven days. This includes weekdays and weekends. The shifts are 8pm-7am. You will be based on site across Brighton & Hove and Worthing.

WHO YOU ARE – We know that there are great candidates who will not fit everything we have described below, or who have important skills we have not mentioned. If that is you, please do not hesitate to apply and tell us about yourself.

We are recruiting a Mobile Night Support Worker who is experienced in and/or passionate about working directly with young people aged 16-25. The successful candidate will be able to engage and relate well to this age group and will have a good understanding of the key risks, challenges, and opportunities for young people with lived experience of homelessness. You will be a confident, capable communicator with the ability to successfully manage challenging situations whilst remaining calm and solution focused. You will be motivated and resilient, being able to use a range of methods for persuasion and achieving positive outcomes with young people. You must also be able to make proportionate decisions and be confident working with minimal supervision. In addition, you will be proactive in your thinking, with an ability to manage lots of tasks at the same time and keep appropriate records. It is essential that you hold a current driving license.

Closing date for this role is midnight on 30 January 2023. Please note this is a rolling advert; applications will be reviewed regularly, and suitable applicants will be invited to attend interviews on a rolling basis. Please apply early to avoid disappointment.
