Position Purpose:
Make decisions and carry out job functions within the limits set by the Electric Metering Supervisor, Lead Meter Technician, and Company management. Perform job functions within assigned department, including, but not limited
to the following areas:
• Construct, operate and maintain metering systems.
• Maintain records within the Meter Department.
Principal Accountabilities:
Read all types of meters and associated devices and record all pertinent information and calculations on meter orders. Set, remove, turn on and off, and seal single-phase, self-contained meters. Install and remove mechanical & electronic recorders for determining service entrance problems.
Determine types, characteristics, and connections of all meters and meter sockets for proper meter installation, possible tampering and potential hazards. Identify common metering circuits by inspection or test. Conduct customer complaint investigations. Field test single phase, self-contained meters.
Bench test single and three phase meters in the test shop. Utilize personal computers or other computer hardware/software as it relates to metering and processing metering data and information.
Determine proper operation of all types of meters and associated devices including automated meter reading equipment, for accurate registration of electricity.
Ensure proper use and care of protective equipment and safety devices described in the company safety manual for working on low voltage circuits.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
⬧ High School graduate or equivalent.
⬧ Knowledge of the Electric Service Tariffs, New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission Rules, Company Policies,
Company Safety Handbook and requirements of the National Electrical Code.
⬧ Possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license based on requirements of the State of New Hampshire and/or the State where employee resides.

#1, INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS, DATED June 1, 2018.
HOURS: Hours shall be Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
WAGE: Ultimate rate – *$34.58 per hour, for a 40 hour week. Overtime rates in accordance with I.B.E.W. Agreement,
Local #1837.
*Starting wage will be in accordance with Article 3.1, Sections A – C.
