Job Description:
- The Product Owner will be leading initiatives to drive digital transformation for a new digital experience for our members.
- The Product Owner collaborates with the Product Manager and Journey Management teams to familiarize themselves with strategy and vision to be able to provide the necessary direction to business and IT partners as the solution is being developed.
- We are seeking a strong individual to push our digital experience to the next level.
- That includes working on initiatives where you are building a world-class and forward-leaning user experience, thoughtfully integrating proprietary and partnered solutions, supporting the evaluation and integration of the most important and exciting new technologies (e.g., Amazon Alexa) and features (e.g., virtual care) to increase conversion, and otherwise ensuring our customer has the most supportive, frictionless, and delightful digital experience possible.
Essential Functions:
The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned.
- Leads scrum teams as the Product Owner
- Provides vision and direction to the agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create user stories
- Ensures that the team always has an adequate backlog of prior prepared work
- Maintains acceptance criteria and proper sizing of all user stories
- Test, validates and is responsible for accepting users stories
- Continuous collaboration with development to ensure user stories are properly sized
- Works across scrum teams to align architecture work, technical design, and any changes to the product architecture and design are defined and called out in features.
- Continuous collaboration with scrum, product and agile operations teams to ensure feature delivery on schedule.
- Product Management Support:
- Collaborate with fellow product owners and agile operations team to implement new processes in the PO role
- Learn and collaborate with Sr. PO and solutions architecture teams on feasibility and analysis related to product discovery exercises
- Conduct research into system issues and products as required
- Contributing to ideation and discovery exercises with members of the product development team
- Plans and prioritize product feature backlog user stories for their work-streams
- Coordinates with Journey and product teams to deliver on vision, road-map and growth opportunities
- Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are
- aligned with product strategy
- Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories
- Work closely with Product Management to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI
- Leads the planning product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities
- Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
- Research and analyze market, the users, and the roadmap for the product
- Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends
Required Work Experience:
- 5+ years related work experience
- Relevant experience with at least 3 years related to digital 1 year as product owner
Additional Required Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
- Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
- Experience working in an agile and iterative environment
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Business knowledge of *** or other healthcare industry
- Lean/Six Sigma certification or Product Owner certification
- Experience applying Customer Experience disciplines
- Hands-on experience with agile management tools like Jira or Rally
- Proven track record of delivering business projects with technology components
- SAFe qualification and experience
Education Level:
- Related Bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience
