Full-Time Medical Director
Job Description
The position of Medical Director is responsible for monitoring and improving the level of care provided to patients. Qualified candidate must have an understanding and knowledge of medicine across a broad range of therapeutic areas, both clinically and technically. The Medical Director will work closely with the Executive Team. The Medical Director will work collegially with a team of doctors, nurse practitioners and nurses and provide direct patient services.
This position may be either full or one half-time.
- Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise all psychiatric and medical functions and develop or modify medical policies as needed;
- Oversee pharmacy and laboratory services, assuring required regulatory standards are met;
- Serve as Chief Clinical Officer;
- Will foster a cohesive team atmosphere;
- Provide consultation and training to professional staff;
- Provide supervision to physicians as necessary;
- Serve as collaborative physician for nurse practitioners; and
- Provide consultation for nurses, students or residents;
- Provide psychiatry and prescribing service;
- Participate in system Medical Director or other relevant meetings;
- Participate in Executive Team meetings; and
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the CEO.
- Requirements:
- At minimum, 5 to 10 years of strong clinical experience with demonstrated leadership skills; and
- Licensed Psychiatrist or MD in the State of Ohio.
