GoPro is seeking an energetic and outgoing mechanical engineer with a passion for outdoor activities. This is a unique position offering hands-on responsibilities that span the entire development cycle. These responsibilities include lab testing of early prototypes, design plus execution of alpha test events, and failure analysis of customer returns. The ideal candidate for this entry Mechanical Validation Engineer role will build strong relationships and have the technical potential to grow to lead Mechanical Validation activities on new accessories, cameras, and product directions.
Responsibilities
- Perform lab testing of prototypes using mechanical and environmental test equipment.
- Develop new test methods and correlate test parameters to field use cases.
- Conduct failure analysis and data reporting on customer returns.
- Design and execute alpha testing for targeted use cases.
Skills We’re Stoked About
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of industry work experience (or equivalent experience).
- Hands on experience with test equipment and general shop tools (experience with machine tools is a plus).
- Has worked in the outdoor electronics or sports equipment industry; or gained experience using many types of outdoor products through the pursuit of personal passions.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally to manufacturing and field test locations.
