Full-Time Marketing Traffic Manager
Job Description
The Marketing department Traffic Manager coordinates and ensures the on-time and orderly flow of all projects from job initiation to product completion; including scheduling projects, prioritizing workflow and managing logistics based on company needs. The Traffic Manager coordinates with the Creative Director to help evaluate bandwidth and develop solutions to accommodate meeting project deadlines. This individual is responsible for traffic management across all of marketing, and for both print and digital communications.
This role also acts as a critical conduit that connects marketing directors to the creative and digital teams and ensures that all projects are scheduled, iterated, completed and processed on time. Where applicable, the position also interfaces with other business partners outside of marketing that solicit work from our creative and digital teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
I. Key contact within Creative Services for project initiation and communication of project status
II. Inputs work into project management system and tracks progress of all work by paying close attention to schedules and priorities by owning the project management system; keeping track of projects, iterations, deadlines and milestones, and estimating time requirements for projects
III. Ensures that procedures are consistently followed, identify workflow bottlenecks, help prioritize workflow from marketing directors, work closely with the creative director to spot potential resource deficiencies or conflicts; making sure that designers and copywriters are on track to meet project milestones and flag any potential issues that could affect delivery
IV. Collaboration with internal marketing stakeholders to make sure all information is secured in order to move projects forward and communicates across the marketing organization; the progress of current work, schedules of longer term campaigns/initiatives
V. Maintain understanding or knowledge of the general methodologies and production of print materials as well as digital communications. Evaluate and implement digital traffic management systems
VI. Ensure on-time delivery of all printed files to various vendors and communicate project updates to print vendors to keep jobs flowing smoothly. Ensure project files are delivered properly, and jobs are on-budget (when applicable).
VII. Maintain understanding of all markets, products and services offered by the company
Qualifications:
Four year degree required from an accredited university or art school preferred.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, and a proven track record in traffic and project management within an agency or corporate environment
Proven ability to collaborate within a creative team, as well as internal stakeholders to produce work on time
Team player with the ability to work across different lines of business that often have similar timelines and creative needs. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Outstanding communication and negotiating skills
Maturity and enthusiasm to work in a fast paced office environment, handle a large workload, significant growth and change within the department and company
Experience with traffic/ project management software, especially Workfront and ProofHQ.
