Full-Time Marketing Manager

Job Description

Position Summary 

The Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Audience Services and is responsible for the timely creation and facilitation of all print and digital media necessary to deliver Lookingglass’ strategic marketing and communication objectives and increase organizational awareness and visibility. The Marketing Manager works with external partners and will handle the day-to-day implementation of marketing and communications materials across paid, earned, and owned channels and serve as the primary point of contact internally for these deliverables.  

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities   

 

General 

  • Manage daily administrative tasks to ensure the Marketing department runs smoothly 
  • Maintain working knowledge of Theater’s Spektrix CRM database and collaborate cross-departmentally with colleagues on thoughtful audience segmentation and targeting 
  • Plan, organize, and execute communications events including press openings, season kick-off, and membership events. Provide on-site event support (including set up and tear down) 
  • Manage company-wide communications calendar 
  • Represent the company at public events as needed   
  • Manage department invoices, finance tracking, and reporting 
  • Collaborate with the Development Department on events and fundraising campaigns 

Advertising & Promotions   

  • Manage email campaigns from start to finish; build patron lists in ticketing system, draft and program email copy and layouts, and send emails    
  • Coordinate execution and fulfillment of ad campaigns and all art with advertising partners  
  • Work with freelance designers to produce design assets in support of marketing plans 
  • Initiate and maintain promotional partnerships   
  • Conduct market research to identify new revenue and audience opportunities 
  • Organize promotional collateral distribution campaigns   
  • Schedule and assist with department photo/video shoots   
  • Create/monitor ad campaigns in Google AdWords   
  • Work with Director of Audience Services in maintaining discount codes, offers, and ticket mailings   
  • Manage direct mail lists and fulfill list trade requests   

 

Social Media and Website Management 

  • Compose and maintain website copy, updates, and content via WordPress   
  • Draft website pages for all Lookingglass activities in coordination with webmaster  
  • Run all social media platforms which may include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, or other emerging services. 
  • In collaboration with Artistic Department, create new and engaging content across all sites.   
  • In collaboration with Graphic Designer and other departments, manage show program content, layout, proofing, and distribution 

 

AEI 

  • Participate in organization-wide anti-racism work and incorporate an anti-racist lens into daily practice. Lookingglass recognizes that it has much to do towards being an anti-racist and a more equitable institution. As an integral department in the organization, the Marketing Department will continue to be a vital part of this ongoing work.  This work, by the Board, Ensemble, and staff, is ongoing. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Proven experience in marketing, communications, or non-profit administration preferred  
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills  
  • Proficiency in social media campaign management across platforms 
  • Experience in web content administration (WordPress a plus)  
  • Familiarity with execution of email marketing campaigns 
  • Possess search engines, web analytics, and business research tools acumen 
  • Intermediate -software skills, including Microsoft Excel, Google Analytics, Google Adwords, and email marketing software (DotDigital preferred) 
  • Basic knowledge of CRM programs 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, to work independently and in a team  
  • Basic knowledge of data collection methods (e.g., polls, focus groups, surveys) 
  • Experience in administrative tasks such as budget reconciliation, credit card management and invoicing  
  • Attention to detail and accuracy  
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends as necessary   
  • Ability to work in a hybrid workplace 

 

Compensation 

COMPENSATION: $60,000

Health Insurance 

  • Choice of PPO or HMO; Organization covers the cost of 95% of the HMO plan. If PPO plan is elected, staff member pays the difference between the PPO plan and 95% of the HMO plan.  
  • Vision & Rx plan; 
  • This is reevaluated annually in June with the adoption of the health plan
