Overview
The Firestone Building Products (FSBP) Marketing Communications Training and Development Manager will provide the strategy, design, and implementation of effective building products training for internal sales, sales rep firms, contractors, architects/consultants and building owners. FSBP is a highly technical environment and for our organization to be successful, this leader is required to be a subject matter expert in their respective area of responsibility. This individual will work collaboratively with technical and product subject matter experts to deliver effective training on building products solutions ranging from installation videos to product and system knowledge. This role requires experience in influencing across the business with peers and leadership.
Reporting into the FSBP Marketing Communications Director, this role includes thinking creatively about the manner in which programs are delivered, including best in class, cutting edge digital and experiential approaches that impact our brand image globally.
Responsibilities
- Create and continually evolve the vision, development, and delivery of Firestone’s overarching customer education strategy and support initiatives working closely with stakeholders across the wider organization.
- Initiate, oversee and contribute to development of processes, tools, and programs which expand organizational capabilities. This represents educational experiences completed online, virtually and in classroom
- Design training plans and strategies for target audiences and situations utilizing blended learning approaches and resources.
- Facilitate evolution of training approaches that include more digital, social, mobile, experiential, and virtual solutions and methodologies.
- Responsible for annual planning and budget for education that aligns to company
- Incorporate deep knowledge of industry best practices in driving results. Ensures metrics are in place with an effective Learning Management System to guide continual program improvement.
- Stays current on learning industry trends in order to continually improve the Firestone customer education programs and overall customer experience
- This position works closely with internal departments such as research and development, technical, product marketing, brand managers, sales, legal, digital, and corporate comms to define, develop, implement and promote solutions for FSBP success.
- This role also manages vendors and other external learning professional groups that help to develop and create training modules.
- Manages the Learning Management System.
Qualifications
- 10 years+ of instructional design experience and development strategy utilizing all methodologies available for a variety of audience needs to penetrate different business markets
- 5 years management or leadership experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design and Technology, Business or related.
- Hands on experience in creating training modules including storyboard development, script writing and knowledge checks for adult learners.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems
- Experience in leading and influencing teams
- Demonstrated results in developing training programs with quantifiable training metrics (learners, satisfaction, digital engagement, impact, etc.)
- Ability to work collaboratively in matrixed environment
- Strong (written and verbal) communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and ability to present to senior leaders on a regular basis
- Must be able to derive insight and provide actionable recommendations to leadership
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with positive result
- Experience with B2B and/or Building Products organizations a plus but not required.
- Construction related experience a plus
