The Opportunity

Put yourself in a place where the work you do directly makes a difference to those affected by cancer across Wales. We’re looking for someone who knows how best to communicate the look, feel, and sound of an organisation through the right channels.

You’ll support and work closely with a seasoned Head of Marketing & Communications who’ll guide you as your team brings exciting and creative campaigns and our key messages to life. You’ll have your own fabulous, small, and experienced team to manage when it comes to graphic design and social media, so being an inspiring people manager is your forté.

The role is an exciting career opportunity to help shape our strategy when it comes to social media, direct marketing, and advertising and how we go about reaching new audiences and keeping our current supporters happy. It’ll be a busy role but one full of learning opportunities and the chance to make a difference as you balance a marketing budget, inspire others, champion our cause, and delve into projects delivering great content and results.

As our virtual shop window, our website management is an important aspect of the role. The opportunity to really make your mark in this area, not only in maintaining it, but leading the organisation through any changes, updates, and developments to have the maximum impact on our services, fundraising, and brand awareness.

As you’re embedded in the work of the organisation across all departments, you’ll get to the core of how other teams work, supporting and inspiring them in how they communicate, engage with, and market our brand. You’re our brand ambassador so colleague interaction and collaboration when it comes to ideas, feedback, and producing and evaluating effective campaign work is your driving energy.

This career opportunity not only gives you the space to show how already awesome you are in your field but gives you exposure to learn and influence other areas; from fundraising and promoting our policy work to how we engage with supporters and attract staff and volunteers. You’ll interpret and translate our digital marketing performance to colleagues so we know when we’re hitting the mark and advise how we can go further!

Tell us more about you

You’re perhaps looking to step into a well-known Welsh organisation and do a job with impact. And you’ve got the experience of leading a brand to greatness through channel management and developing an online presence. You know you’ve inspired people to succeed, recognise the importance of teamwork and good management and are keen to get stuck into a new Marketing & Communications Manager opportunity for the long haul.

We really want the best in terms of skills, attitude and people who share our values.

So, we could be a good match if you can demonstrate:

  • You match our values and are committed to being part of delivering our vision and mission
  • You’re good at building relationships and work in an inclusive and collaborative way with others
  • You’ve done this sort of role already and can bring fresh ideas to the table
  • You’re a great brand manager who knows their stuff when it comes to developing an online presence
  • You manage multiple projects/ work to budgets and thrive in a role where you need to be adaptable to change or respond swiftly
  • You can manage a website, lead on specialist projects and support your team in their work areas, spotting new opportunities to do things better
