Sefaria, a non-profit organization dedicated to building the future of Torah in an open and participatory way, seeks a full-time Marketing Associate to join our mission to make Jewish texts accessible and engaging for a diverse and growing audience.

Position Overview

The Marketing Associate is a full time, US remote position that provides key marketing and communications support for the team’s day-to-day operations as well as major projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate is a tenacious project manager who is equal-parts organized, detail-oriented, and creative. We’re looking for a highly motivated team member who brings a methodical and structured approach to keeping a busy, distributed team on task. The Marketing Associate must be proficient in using technology and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

The Marketing Associate will report directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications and will support both the Senior Communications Manager and the Associate Digital Marketing Manager in their work.

In this position you will:

  • Maintain Sefaria’s communications and launch calendars, ensuring the information is accurate and that content is going out as scheduled (using Trello, Salesforce, ActiveCampaign).
  • Create and maintain the email production process by ensuring roles and deadlines are clear.
  • Support email campaigns by setting up content in our email marketing platform, sending tests, testing links, and scheduling emails in coordination with our editorial calendar.
  • Triage and field staff marketing and communications requests from other Sefaria departments.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure adherence to internal deadlines for marketing and communications projects.
  • Support the virtual Sefaria store through monitoring, vendor communications, and customer service.
  • Organize and submit all team invoices and receipts to the accounting department.
  • Organize and manage communications and logistics for virtual events.
  • Assist in the creation of original and template-based graphics for social media using Canva.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Marketing & Communications Department and complete other tasks as needed.

Experience, qualifications, and requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
  • A combination of relevant work experience and education to successfully perform the responsibilities outlined in this description
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in marketing or communications.
  • Proficiency in working with the technology in an online work environment including GSuite, Slack, and Zoom (training will be provided as needed).
  • Proven experience managing projects.
  • Experience using project management software; Trello is preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience with content creation and graphic design (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Capacity to juggle multiple projects and competing deadlines.
  • Familiarity with and knowledge of Jewish texts.

Compensation:

  • The annual salary range for this position is $50,500 – $58,500.

Location:

The Marketing Associate must be eligible to work in the US and can be based anywhere in the continental US, provided they can be available for full staff and other team meetings that take place during standard ET work hours. Sefaria has staff in San Francisco, St. Louis, Boston, and New York, and Washington, DC.
