What we do: (team overview)
Purpose and context of the role.
- Mandate Monitoring provides complete, independent and timely pre and / or post trade monitoring of all mandate, prospectus, regulatory and other in-house investment guidelines.
- Provides insight to the business on the causes of breaches, and actively consults on their prevention.
- Supports on project related work to improve Mandate Monitoring processes.

The successful candidate will: (role responsibilities)
Outcomes.
- Maintain pre and post trade mandate monitoring restrictions using the two relevant monitoring systems: BRS Aladdin and JPM TRAC. Tasks will include coding or instruction to third parties, review and testing for new fund launches and amendments.
- Support the offshore Mandate Monitoring team with daily post trade exception monitoring and other manual monitoring activities.
- Undertake automated and manual exception monitoring pre and post trade where required.
- Identify and manage risks and ensure that adequate control processes exist and operate effectively.
- Provide support to the Front Office on queries relating to pre and post trade investment guidelines and exceptions.
- Maintenance of stop lists and other restricted lists on pre trade systems.
- Maintenance of procedure documents for team tasks as required.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with UK and overseas business units.
- Assist with other Mandate Monitoring projects and initiatives.
- To review and interpret new and amended IMA’s / Prospectus’ to determine if the investment guidelines can be automated.
- Provide training and advice to other Mandate Monitoring team members on areas of expertise.

Experience & Qualifications:
Qualifications.
- Experience in Mandate Monitoring an advantage.
- Degree.
- Candidate would be encouraged to work towards and gain the IMC.
Skills/ Knowledge.
- Experience using BRS Aladdin and JPM TRAC an advantage.
- Excellent organisational, time management and decision-making skills.
- An understanding of the investment management process across the full range of asset classes and client types.
- An understanding of Mandate Monitoring processes including interpretation of discretionary client investment management agreements.
- Knowledge of UK, Irish, US, and Luxembourg regulations with respect to retail funds.
- Strong IT literacy as a business user.
- Self-motivated.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal & written.
Experience.
- Experience of Mandate Monitoring with an investment management organisation in relation to ensuring compliance to Investment & Borrowing Powers and client investment guidelines an advantage.
- Experience to include rule coding and exception monitoring and resolution with investment managers.
