Full-Time Manager, Station Services
Job Description
The role of the Manager, Station Services is to ensure that PRX is an essential partner to public radio stations. Success is measured through revenue and customer service.
We’re looking for someone who can identify and communicate opportunities to stations to adopt our content, technology, and training. Equally important is consistently contributing ideas and insights to a creative and collaborative team. If you are focused, diplomatic, and adept at negotiating complex business deals, this position is right for you.
The Manager will serve as a trusted liaison to stations; they will thoughtfully support stations as they shape the future of the public radio system. This important role requires an adaptive leader with a knack for building long-term business relationships.
Success in this role means:
- Exceeding revenue, audience, and product adoption goals
- Uncovering industry insights and presenting information persuasively
- Building healthy, meaningful relationships with station decisions makers
Responsibilities:
- Increase carriage of PRX’s program portfolio across the public radio system
- Manage a substantial territory of public radio stations and drive revenue
- Advocate for the usage of content, technology, and training from PRX
- Act on opportunities to deepen and enrich network-station relationships
- Create sales presentations that dovetail with marketing campaigns and goals
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop solutions for station success
- Utilize tools, technology, and insights to advance sales conversations
- Deliver station services including fundraising tools, engagement opportunities, etc
- Negotiate successfully in pricing conversation with station decision-makers
- Maintain data for carriage, billing, planning, forecasting, and communications
- Travel to stations and conferences when appropriate
Our preference is for this position to be based in Minneapolis or Boston. We will consider candidates in other locations.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of two years sales experience or comparable background and knowledge
- Experience in media production, programming, marketing, or fundraising
Skills & Knowledge:
- Deep interest in shaping the audio content industries for the future
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects with deadlines
- Ability to creatively develop and deliver information in verbal and written form
- Exceptional relationship building skills

Salary ranges are dependent on location and can be given upon request. Some examples are as follows: CO, MN, IL, FL, TX, and MO is $62k-$72k. In MA, DC, and LA, the range is 69k-79k.
