As a member of the Information Technology (IT) Team reporting to the Director of IT, key responsibilities for the incumbent include:
Lead the implementation of Record Management best practice and improve access to corporate information by managing a corporate records management program, which includes a records classification plan, retention & disposal schedules, clear policies, procedures and guidelines, training and orientation, advisory services and support and access & privacy controls;
Facilitate sharing of information, through the development, implementation and support of an electronic records management software solution;
Ensure NLC complies with all legislative, regulatory and accountability requirements including the Access to Information Protection of Privacy (ATIPP) Act and Room Act by properly managing all corporate records throughout their life cycle; Develop long term (4-5 years) and short term (1-2 years) Information Management strategic plans for the organization/departments; Collaborate with Executive and Management of all business units to ensure policies, procedures and operational changes will support their mandates/key objectives and provide significant benefits in Information delivery; Liaises with colleagues, program and support staff throughout Provincial Archives, the Legislative Library as well as other public bodies; Forecast and manage the Information Management operating budget;
For consideration as a potential candidate, the individual should possess the following qualifications: Degree in Information Management, supplemented by courses in information/archives/records management; A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in information management including proven experience in planning, organizing and controlling project activities and supervision of project teams; Develop, maintain and improve document and records management standards, processes and procedures incorporating feedback and recommendations; Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Works independently, prioritizes and multitasks in a dynamic environment, adapts quickly to change and manages multiple projects simultaneously; Positive teamwork approach with cross-functional partnership and collaborative approach; Experience in the lifecycle management of records and information in all media, including preparation of records inventories for electronic and physical records, setting access rights, establishing standard metadata elements for records in all formats, analyzing business processes in collaboration with business units to enable digitization, preparing retention schedules for traditional, e.g., physical records, and electronic record formats, web content; Experience working with technology leads and document/records management technologies; Experience developing training for individuals and groups, i.e., end-users, on records and information management practice;

Salary: HL 17 – $56,738 – $73,760 annually
