Full-Time Manager Program Management

Job Description

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Manager – Program Management within our Program Management team to help support our Automotive business.  Did you know we are the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of seating support and comfort systems for transportation manufacturers, as well as tier one and two suppliers within the automotive industry?  That’s right!  In fact, in 2019, we were named as one of GM’s “Supplier of the Year” recipients.  Our automotive products fall into four primary groups:  Seating and Lumbar support, Wireless Charging, Motors and Actuators, and Mechanical Cables.  If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.

As a Manager – Program Management you will have the opportunity to turn Award Letters into profitable new Business ventures.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by managing a team and leading them to success.  The team you will be working with is social but hard working, and values being challenged and solving problems.

So, what will you be doing as Manager – Program Management?

  • Contribute to overall business strategy and identify long-term planning goals
  • Lead a team of Program Managers and Launch Managers to meet target goals
  • Manage your own projects and oversee all projects in the group
  • Manage project escalations, collaborating with team leaders to find solutions
  • Gather and grow expertise in specific processes and requirement for the assigned OEMs regarding APQP and EC
  • Initiate, develop, and identify improvement in Program Management, but also in other functions that influence program success

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience, automotive preferred
  • 3-5 years team leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge in implementation of processes, methodology, and tools
  • Proven experience in project management
  • Problem solving and planning skills
  • Clear and strong communication
  • Ability to focus on details while also maintaining a view of the big picture
  • Effectively communicate within the organization and with customers
  • Good coaching skills
