Full-Time Manager, Professional Learning
Job Description
EDUCAUSE (http://www.educause.edu), a highly creative, entrepreneurial, national nonprofit association whose mission is to advance higher education through the use of information technology, is currently seeking a Manager, Professional Learning to join our Professional Learning (PL) team. This is a full-time, exempt position with the option to work remotely or from the Louisville, CO office.
Position Summary:
In this role, you will design, implement and support EDUCAUSE learning programs including EDUCAUSE Institute programs, conference-based and on-line learning experiences. The Manager ensures that these programs advance the overall strategic priorities of EDUCAUSE and serve member needs with excellence in program design and development, program delivery, and program evaluation. This role also advises senior leaders on methods for improving or enhancing the member experience in face-to-face and blended learning programs and aligning services with member needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide event and instructional design and content expertise for the development and execution of effective professional development and community engagement in face-to-face and blended learning programs.
Develop and support face-to-face and blended programs through:
Scheduling and event planning
Event facilitation and presentation
Recruitment, development and support of faculty
Promotion of programs
Evaluation of programs congruent with the overall Professional Learning portfolio
Continuous improvement of the curriculum, content, interactivity, and overall learner experience
Adhere to an established set of face-to-face and online program processes and standards; gather and analyze data to recommend ongoing program improvements; identify ways to increase attendance, participant engagement and satisfaction, cost-containment, and revenue generation.
Develop, execute, and continuously improve consultation services and resources for volunteer faculty and facilitators to ensure quality instructional design and participant engagement, and on-the-job application.
Execute and support research and evaluation of conference/event engagement tactics to enhance member learning and networking experiences; identify emerging practices to build and nurture professional communities and support personalized learning experiences for members.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) established annually for professional learning including attendance, revenue and investment returns (ROI), and audience satisfaction.
Act as a good steward of EDUCAUSE financial and other resources; manage face-to-face and blended programs and other organizational projects within budget; work to achieve annual revenue targets for all products in the Professional Learning portfolio.
Qualifications:
You should have a baccalaureate degree or higher in education, communication, business or a closely related field.
You will need a minimum of 3 years’ experience in learning and professional development with a history of work in faculty development, instructional design, and/or professional education and:
Knowledge of adult learning theory, effective teaching and learning, curriculum design and community building best practices
Ability to clearly demonstrate effective teaching practice and delivery of an engaging face-to-face learning experience
Ability to sustain collaborative relationships, forge partnerships, and build consensus within diverse communities of practice
Experience with and understanding of web-based communication, online learning and conference technologies
Demonstrated ability to sustain collaborative relationships, forge partnerships, and build consensus within diverse communities of practice
Ability to synthesize information and handle detail-oriented work, achieving tangible results
Excellent project management skills in individual and group work situations, including demonstrated ability to manage multiple short-range and long-term projects simultaneously and meet all deadlines, keeping the appropriate constituencies informed and involved
Ability to work effectively in a distributed environment
Limited travel required to support EDUCAUSE conferences/events, team operations, and external events relevant to the position.
