We are currently hiring for the position of:

 

MANAGER, PARTNERSHIPS SALES

 

As a member of the largest revenue generating team of the organization, the purpose of the Manager, Partnership Sales  is to recruit new partners to financially support the activities of TIFF through mutually beneficial partnerships, working towards a collective annual revenue target of $10,000,000 +

The Manager, Partnership Sales shall drive outreach amongst leading Canadian and International brands in support of TIFF’s partnership growth strategy.  They shall prospect, develop, and cultivate an ongoing funnel of more than $1,000,000 of new opportunities with a focus on medium to semi-large scale investments with the goal of exceeding overall Partnerships revenue targets.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Shall include but not be limited to: 

  • Prospect, develop, and manage an ongoing pipeline of >$1M of opportunities among Canadian and International brands. 
  • Strategize to deliver innovative sponsorship solutions to partners, delivering on their global marketing and brand goals.
  • Effective prospect management; including objective setting, negotiating terms for contracts with new sponsors and supporting the Accounts team with large-scale renewals 
  • Strong external ambassador for TIFF in the sponsorship landscape and demonstrates this through compelling, innovative proposals, clear objective setting with prospects, and delivering impactful sales results. 
  • Support Partnerships Accounts vertical to up-sell and renew current accounts and execute on-site tasks and duties during the Festival 
  • Screen incoming interest in partnership with TIFF. Qualify inbound interest accurately, and create innovative partnership opportunities which will exceed partner expectations.
  • Ensure all terms of partnership agreements are fulfilled and that the highest level of account service is delivered, including supporting the delivery of Festival how-to guides, specifications and post-mortem reports.
  • Act as Partnerships representation at internal production tables/meetings (such as Festival Production meetings) to drive collaboration and facilitate critical cross departmental communication and execution specific to Partnerships priorities and initiatives.
  • Lead the ideation and development of new business properties
  • Hosting prospective clients, and other responsibilities suitable to the role

 

JOB GRADE & RATE OF PAY

  • Job Grade 3
  • minimum $65,000/ Annually

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum University-level related post-secondary education
  • Minimum 4-6 years of sponsorship/partnerships, agency, or relevant sales experience

      • Expressing yourself clearly, confidently, and in a compelling persuasive manner 
      • Writing effectively, clearly, succinctly and persuasively 
      • Confidently, and competently lead negotiations with internal and external stakeholders supporting the Partnerships Department
      • Exceptional presentation skills will be key to success in this role. Being comfortable crafting, delivering, and editing a high volume of presentations on an ongoing basis is essential.
      • Ability to act as a vocal Partnerships representative at internal meetings including but not limited to creating net new programmes or brainstorms    
    • Customer focus (may be internal or external) 
      • Strong business acumen with a solutions-oriented mindset
      • Advocate for partners, serving as their voice within the organization.
      • Ability to calmly or effectively trouble-shoot when approached with concerns by internal departmental peers or onsite with concerns by partners, members or general public.
      • Work closely with partners/prospects to develop sustainable and realistic objectives during negotiation of partnerships 
      • Listen to prospect feedback as-delivered during negotiations conversations, and work to meet objectives to close all sales

  • Strong ability to prioritize competing priorities (both internal and external)  
    • The ability to find solutions for difficult or complex prospect asks and/or goals, through internal collaboration
    • Ability to think quickly and strategically to meet prospect needs, sales deadlines and pipeline development when going through the sales cycle (i.e. strong ability to back-fill sales) 
    • Ability to think critically and anticipate issues/opportunities and proactively propose solutions/ideas to address them

    • Exceptional business writing skills with attention to detail, including but not limited to proposals and contracts

    • Research the market and keep strong understanding of Accounts business practices
    • Leverage insights on macro trends and issues impacting the industries for all assigned categories to develop client solutions.

    • Manage priorities, deadlines and deliverables for a specified portfolio of sales categories and organizational tasks  
    • Strong ability to be adaptive in a changing sales environment and efficiently prioritize tasks and sales pipelines accordingly 
  • Interpersonal skills
    • Showcase a positive attitude, professionalism and exemplary listening, verbal and non-verbal communication to build strong relationships with partners and internal stakeholders. 
  • Job-specific knowledge
    • Understanding of the partnerships industry, such as experiential marketing and sponsorship trends, success measurements and how to best prove ROI
    • Strong ability in creative development of activation ideas, marketing concepts, and ability to “think like an agency” 
    • Understand macro trends and issues impacting the industries for all assigned categories.
