Full-Time Manager of Talent Management
Job Description
Job Summary
Leads the talent acquisition team in recruitment initiatives, internal mobility and helps to promote Cleveland State University (CSU) as an employer of choice. Works collaboratively with diverse audiences to deliver leading talent acquisition, performance management, skills assessment and professional development strategies throughout CSU. Aligns all recruitment resources and manages strategic internal and external partnerships to provide timely and proactive recruitment services. Enhances CSU’s capabilities through management, development and implementation of a values curriculum, leadership and training programs geared toward employee retention. Develops, delivers and coordinates group and individual training and interventions; serves as a resource in the assessment of needs and identification of appropriate interventions and training. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Management or related field required.
- Five (5) years of experience in two or more of the following areas: talent acquisition, talent management, organizational development, succession planning, strategic workforce planning, individual and leadership assessment.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Management consulting and management skill building experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree, preferably in Human Resource Management or Organizational Effectiveness.
- Six (6) years in talent acquisition, workforce planning and training experience.
- A strategic thinker familiar with project management and change management.

- Excellent written, presentation, coaching and verbal skills, including the ability to use diplomacy and advanced communication skills in unstructured settings.

- Knowledge to develop and design, deliver, and evaluate impactful training content.
- Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment, juggle multiple priorities and manage ambiguity.
- Ability to work collaboratively and forge effective working relationships both internally and externally.
- Quick learner and sharp attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of workforce planning, succession planning, career pathing and talent development.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Awareness of emerging trends and changes in regulations, policies and procedures to proactively address issues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint.
