WSU is seeking a well-rounded network team manager who’s looking for a new position with both managerial and technical aspects. We’ll keep you hopping with a steady stream of projects and technologies.
We need a manager to lead our team with great internal and external communication, collaboration with other teams, and strong prioritization in a dynamic environment. This is a working manager position, so route/switch experience and deep understanding of IP networking are essential. Project management skills — both the doing and the reporting — are also vital. Summary of Responsibilities
Responsible for network operations and service levels for data networking equipment and services. Oversees and coordinates the daily activities of the network team.
Essential Functions
- Reviews and evaluates work and prepares performance evaluations.
- Develops and implements standards, procedures, and processes for the network group.
- Plans and manages the implementation and support of new technologies, including wireless and VoIP, network performance, and reliability.
- Defines and negotiates service level agreements.
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent by hire date
Minimum Experience
Nine (9) years of experience in network administration or related field, with two (2) years of experience in a lead role. Every 30 hours of college coursework can be substituted for one (1) year of experience.
Preferred Experience
Project management or lead on project(s) involvement with milestone planning, reporting and updates to stakeholders.
Management of IP firewalls and/or writing IP firewall rules.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Deep understanding of and experience with IP routing and ethernet switching.
- Previous successful management of an IT team.
- Ability to project manage and/or training related.
- Direct involvement with planning and implementing upgrades/overhauls of networks, supporting large scale on-premises employee stations.
- Applied knowledge of network infrastructure on a larger scale.
Pay Info: Wide salary range opening at $85K, adjusted based on qualifications
