We are looking for a highly motivated, hands-on Manager, IT to join our team!
We are seeking a corporate IT Manager with a strong technical background and hands-on experience in IT infrastructure and end-user support. You will play a key role in building and maintaining a secure, scalable, and productive corporate IT environment supporting multiple business and R&D functions. This position is full-time based in Fremont, California.
How You’ll Contribute
- Develop and implement IT solutions and standards across all services and locations to ensure a secure and productive environment.
- Design, implement, and maintain corporate IT infrastructure and services, including Active Directory, Office 365, VoIP, teleconferencing solutions, wired and wireless networks, and VPN.
- Monitor service uptime and performance. Provide thorough troubleshooting and quick resolution to service issues.
- Develop and maintain IT on-boarding and off-boarding procedures.
- Manage IT service desk and services based on ITIL principles.
- Participate in hardware and software evaluations. Negotiate and maintain vendor service and support contracts.
- Manage IT assets and maintain hardware and software inventory.
- Build and mentor the IT service team.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, IT service management, and end-user support with 3+ years of management/supervisory experience.
- Proven leadership in IT operations and engineering with emphasis on productivity, reliability, and security.
- Expert knowledge of Active Directory and Office 365.
- Strong technical and operational background in Information Security, including endpoint protection, anti-virus, encryption, firewall, and VPN.
- Experience with the implementation and administration of IAM and SSO solutions.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, routers, switches, and firewall.
- Experience with asset and device management.
- Experience with managing productivity applications and teleconferencing/communications solutions (Zoom, MS Teams).
- Experience with virtualization (VMware and Hyper-V) and cloud computing (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience with enterprise systems integration.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver IT projects on time and within budget.
At Ultima Genomics, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $140,000 and $155,000, if performed in California, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
