Overall Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, Insights, the Manager, International Market Analytics is responsible for both the vision and execution of global market data management. This includes the analysis and reporting of brand and market performance across international markets, as well as leadership in global reporting standards and turning market data into actionable insight. The incumbent must also lead in-depth analyses, manage supplier relationships, support business planning, aid in new market entry, and input on key choices throughout the organization. In doing so, they must act as a thought leader, coach and change agent in driving data-based decision making.

 

Specific Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Create and lead a global market data strategy, including data quality standards, recommended suppliers and standardized reporting.
  • Design and maintain a suite of market and brand performance reports, using multiple data sources including regular monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reporting, and more. Deliver and present to internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Lead development and maintenance of global market performance dashboards, leveraging multiple data sources.
  • Conduct analyses to measure company performance, as well as understand key drivers, trends and areas of opportunity, and to recommend actions.
  • Design and maintain partner data intake, analyses and reporting.
  • Enable data connection from multiple sources, including POS, shopper panels, social media, third party data (e.g. Euromonitor Passport), digital marketing and owned e-commerce; analyze, interpret and report on consumer/shopper trends.
  • Develop global market reports, helping to identify and quantify key strengths and opportunities by brand, channel and sub-category.
  • Lead the execution and thought leadership of major analyses as required, such as Price & Promotion and Innovation Incrementality.
  • Develop category growth forecasts based on clear methodology and assumptions, to facilitate financial planning and building blocks.
  • Provide strategic analytics/insights to business units and stakeholders including marketing, sales, finance, S&T and the management teams.
  • Connect consumer/shopper research findings with market data to help explain the “why” behind brand and category performance.
  • Continually seek ways to increase reporting efficiency and accessibility to enable fact-based decision-making within the organization.
  • Train and coach Brand and Marketing teams in how to best access, utilize and interpret existing data to make informed decisions.
  • Support Business Unit Market Analysts in developing standardized reporting and in leading advanced analyses as needed.
  • Manage vendor relationships and drive budget efficiencies.
  • Other duties as required.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements

  • Six plus (6 +) years analytical experience within a consumer packaged goods environment
  • University Business, Marketing or Economics Degree; MBA an asset
  • Experience with Nielsen Applications (Desktop, ITO, ConnectExpress/Discover platforms), IQVIA and/or other quantitative measurement systems, Web-crawling/E-commerce data, Euromonitor/Mintel applications/reports and in connecting multiple data sources (e.g. POS, shopper panel, digital, etc.)Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Proficiency in Tableau an asset
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to transform data into actionable insights and recommendations
