Full-Time Manager, Data Analytics

Position Details

The Manager, Data Analytics will be based out of a home office.

 

Position Overview

The Manager, Data Analytics plays a key role in support of New Leaders’ mission of promoting high academic achievement for all children, especially students in poverty and students of color, by conducting descriptive data analysis and generating insights in support of program evaluation, organizational learning, funder reporting, and continuous improvement. The Manager, Data Analytics also shares those findings with national and regional stakeholders throughout New Leaders in an accurate, timely, relevant, actionable, and easy-to-digest way with an equity focus.

 

The Manager, Data Analytics reports to the Director, Data Strategy & Analytics.

 

Specific Responsibilities

By building a deep understanding of teams and data needs across the organization, oversee stakeholder requests for data, analyses, and insights to support both external reporting and internal continuous improvement by:

  • Assessing what type of analysis needs to be conducted to address requests from stakeholders then conducting applicable
  • Determining when and which team members need to provide information to support data requests; serving as project manager to ensure 100 percent of requests are resolved within agreed upon timelines.
  • Identifying the appropriate sources, then gathering and compiling publicly available external data and matching with internal data to conduct analyses requested by stakeholders throughout New Leaders.
  • Analyzing data, developing presentations, and writing key insights from analyses to help answer questions about reaching equitable outcomes for students and participants.
  • Providing timely feedback on online data reporting dashboards within a monthly launch cycle.

Support accurate, timely, relevant, and actionable reporting of New Leaders program implementation and outcomes by:

  • Providing descriptive quantitative and qualitative analysis of participant and alumni survey data and sharing insights with internal stakeholders.
  • Conducting descriptive analyses of participant assessment data.
  • Collaborating with team members to conduct exploratory analyses to support the organization’s learning priorities.
  • Working closely with other internal teams (including the Strategy Team, Marketing Team, and Program Implementation Team) to understand reporting strategies and timelines for data needs.
  • Supporting the development of high-quality Evaluation Team reports, briefs, and presentations, including conducting accuracy checks on underlying data.
  • Supporting data accuracy and accountability using our quality assurance processes.
  • Communicating to the wider organization regarding availability of internal evaluation data.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience required.

  • Passionate about using data and analyses to explore patterns and seek greater understanding of the implementation and outcomes of New Leaders’ programs.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze descriptive quantitative data and display results clearly and creatively.
    • Demonstrated ability to write reports and memos describing key trends from data.
  • Demonstrated ability to present complex information in an understandable and useful manner to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent relationship management, customer service, and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to build or cultivate personal relationships and relate to people from diverse backgrounds, sectors, and experiences.

    • Fluency in all Microsoft Office Applications, particularly Excel.
    • Experience with Salesforce, SurveyGizmo, Google Office Suite, and Google Sites preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to requests for data and analyses and conduct quality assurance for data resources.
  • Experience in the K-12, high-need education sector, or a strong familiarity with the issues and challenges of K-12 education, particularly effective school leadership, a plus.
  • Must be able to travel 3-5 times annually (temporarily suspended).
