Reporting to the Director of Store Operations and Development, the Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the execution, leadership, financial measures, development and support of activities related to the retailing of beverage alcohol and cannabis in NLC Corporate Locations, Express Retail Stores and Licensed Cannabis Retailers (LCRs) in Newfoundland and Labrador, while enhancing the customer experience in a socially responsible manner. Key responsibilities include:
Ensures the communication of operational and administrative policies and procedures that support key initiatives while balancing profitability, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction and engagement with social responsibility;
Works with the business to develop annual budgets to be presented to the Executive for approval;
Achieves overall revenue and earnings targets for the region;
Delivers superior customer service through highly motivated staff; focused on value added selling, category product knowledge, strong operational procedures, and store level execution;
Maintains Corporate, Express Store and LCR reports to ensure accountability for key metrics and performance;
Creates an environment to provide consistent retail standards in both corporate, liquor express stores and LCRs;
Motivates direct reports via the Performance Management Program (planning, mentoring, coaching and evaluation) to create an engaged performance oriented culture;
Ensures all risk mitigation controls are in place at the store level to support capital, inventory and cash management;
Ensures Store Managers in the region provide an effective health and safety environment for customers and staff in accordance with government legislation through formal inspections of premises and equipment. Takes action on identified issues, including repairs and maintenance concerns;
Assures, through regular store calls and site visits, that Liquor Express Stores and LCRs are achieving sales targets and operating within the terms of contract. Identifies, prioritizes, recommends and establishes locations for new Liquor Express and LCR operations in the region;
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Graduation from a post-secondary institution with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business Administration;
Five (5) years of experience in a progressively responsible retail management position (i.e. Packaged goods industry);
Knowledge and experience in managing, planning, policy and process accountability, documentation and best practices in retail management;
Proven leadership abilities; successful in making those around them thrive;
Strong financial, analytical and problem solving skills that have delivered revenue and cost saving results;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; collaboration and organizational abilities;
Ability to travel;
A combination of training, education and experience may be considered.
