Job Summary
Installs and maintains locks and control systems to ensure the safety and security of students and employees. Maintains and updates computerized key and lock records to ensure availability of up-to-date facility security information. Performs advanced level security systems analysis, designs security and safety systems, and leads agency development team in the performance of these duties for the electronic security management program for UWM. This posting is for two positions.
Finance & Administrative Affairs is required to conduct Post-Offer Pre-Employment screenings on all selected candidates for Locksmith positions. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing the screening.
The wage for this position is $21.43 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants for this vacancy must:
• High School diploma (or equivalent)
• Must possess a valid Wisconsin Driver license (or other such valid operator’s permit recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation) and be able to meet or exceed the minimum requirements for driving on state business as detailed here: https://uwm.edu/risk-management/drivers/
Preferred Qualifications
Highly qualified candidates will also have:
• 3 – 5 years of experience completing the duties of a locksmith.
• Proof of completion of a locksmith training program.
• Member of a locksmith trade organization.
