Position: Library Assistant II
Schedule: 24 hours per week, including nights and weekends
Compensation: Hourly pay starts at $21.52/hr., eligible for pro-rated benefits

What You’ll Do:
Patron Engagement:
- Be the first smile visitors see! Welcome and send off library-goers with friendliness, making sure they find what they need and leave wanting to come back.
- Conduct tailored Reference Interviews in person, over the phone, or via chat to link patrons with the right services.
- Navigate customer account management, from issuing library cards to explaining fines or resolving account conflicts.
- Share tech-savvy advice—guide patrons on using everything from self-checkout machines and public computers to creating email accounts and printing documents.
- Offer Reader’s Advisory services and help patrons discover their next favorite read.
- Facilitate library operations, from assisting at various service desks to helping with curbside appointments.
Collection Stewardship:
- Manage the buzz of returns and ensure materials are available for all.
- Collaborate in solving return puzzles, tracking down and managing items with ease.
- Keep things ready and riveting by organizing materials, crafting displays, and maintaining a tidy library space.
Safety & Security:
- Contribute to the library’s safety network by handling alarms and supporting public health and safety needs.
- Champion a positive and secure atmosphere, adeptly managing emergencies and enforcing rules with PBIS strategies.
Community Connection:
- Forge positive vibes—embrace civility skills and bolster community engagement through library and local events.
- Openly accept donations and actively promote programs across the library network.
Strategic Support:
- Align your daily mission with the library’s strategic goals and dive into strategic projects that propel our vision forward.
What You Bring:
- Education: High school diploma required; some college a plus.
- Skills & Attitude:
- Fluent in the pillars of library operations and computer-savvy.
- Thrive in dynamic environments—balance priorities and make the most out of each moment.
- Equipped with great people skills; navigate diverse interactions with grace and team effectiveness.
