As a Legal Administrative Assistant, you will provide support to attorneys and paralegals in our highly productive litigation and bankruptcy practices. To succeed in this position, you will need excellent organizational and communication skills and must be able to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment. A passion for excellence and a positive mindset are important attributes in this role. After an initial period of in-office training, this non-exempt position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produces, edits and formats correspondence, memoranda, reports and other legal documents utilizing a computer, transcription equipment, and other office equipment.
- Establishes and maintains calendar and deadline reminder systems; utilizes Firm’s centralized docketing and calendar system and enters client data into restricted and non-restricted departmental databases.
- Requests conflict of interest reports with File Opening/Conflicts, opens new clients and/or matters, and maintains all client and general files.
- Reviews dockets and court calendars to prepare all case notebooks prior to hearings.
- Revises and maintains monthly Trustee reports for Sub Chapter V cases.
- Manages attorney calendars, schedules appointments and coordinates travel arrangements.
- Processes bills under traditional hourly and fixed-fee billing structures; proofs billing statements; reviews and edits bills.
- E-files documents in federal (Bankruptcy and District) and state courts.
Experience and Education Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. An Associate’s Degree is preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years of legal administrative support experience required; three (3) to five (5) years preferred.
- Prior Bankruptcy/Litigation support experience required.
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
