Job Description

Old Dominion University’s Department of Engineering Technology invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in its Electrical Engineering Technology program, with emphasis on analog and digital electronics, PLCs and instrumentation, microcontroller design, and data science. The position will commence in the fall 2022 or as soon as a suitable candidate is identified.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach and develop undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses in one or more of the following areas: analog and digital electronics, PLCs, instrumentation, microprocessor/microcontroller design, and data acquisition and processing. In addition to this the candidate will be expected to advise senior design capstone projects in their area of expertise.

Minimum Qualifications – knowledge, skills, and abilities: The successful candidate will be expected to teach and develop undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses in one or more of the following areas: analog and digital electronics, PLCs, instrumentation, microprocessor/microcontroller design, and data acquisition and processing.

Minimum Qualifications – Education or training: A Master of Science (M.S.) or a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or closely related field is required by the expected date of hire. For all candidates. Professional experience is also required.
