The working pattern is Monday to Thursday 7.5 hours per day, Friday 7 hours per day

Abingdon and Witney college are looking for a conscientious individual with excellent interpersonal skills to deliver inspirational teaching and learning as part of our successful Motor Vehicle team. This is an expanding curriculum area where you will be course leading and teaching predominately on our level 1 programmes.
Motor Vehicle is based at our Abingdon campus under the faculty of technology where we offer engineering and computing. It would be advantageous if the successful candidate could also have the ability to deliver functional skills in Maths and English (E3 and L1) to motor vehicle students. You should be a skilled communicator, have excellent organisational skills and practical experience of working within the motor vehicle industry.
You should have a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Motor Vehicle and be able to demonstrate up to date industry knowledge. In addition to key vocational knowledge, you must be able to demonstrate literacy and numeracy at Level 2 and have a recognised teaching qualification. Consideration may be given to an outstanding candidate who can inspire young people but who does not hold any teaching qualifications.
It would be desirable but not essential if you held certificated qualifications for Air Conditioning, Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and Hybrid (PHEV). You will maintain the highest standards of health and safety, using innovation within your teaching and assessing to deliver both practical and theory sessions to 14 – 19-year-old students and adults. Although a teaching qualification is an advantage, training opportunities exist within the College and we can support you in gaining your Award in Education and Training Level 3 Qualification (AET), within your first year of joining the college.
This role may be eligible for the ‘Taking Teaching Further (TTF)’ programme, which supports professionals as they move into teaching in the further education sector. Support from the TTF programme can include an initial reduction in teaching workload and enrolment onto teacher training.
