Job Description
Cable One’s Learning and Development (L&D) Manager is responsible for the creation and delivery of leadership training programs. Designed with leadership, management, business and personal progression in addition to best practices in mind, the intention is to expand on the talents and skills across all associates at all levels within the company. The role of the L&D Manager is to fundamentally assist in the company’s success, by coaching and developing our associates. This role requires a unique blend of leadership, curriculum design expertise, training facilitation, project management, analytical abilities, and relationship management.

What you will do:
- Develops strategies for multi-faceted learning agendas based on business goals and objectives and core competencies that advance the culture and the capabilities of the organization.
- Creates, designs, and executes innovative, engaging and timely learning programs.
- Pilots the development of management training programs for the organization’s people managers.
- Collaborates with managers, Human Resources, and others to prioritize learning needs.
- Evaluates individual and organizational development needs.
- Implements comprehensive learning methods company-wide (e.g. coaching, mentoring, job-shadowing, online training).
- Designs and delivers e-learning courses, workshops and other training.
- Assesses and analyzes the success of development plans; Benchmarks against industry trends to continuously improve L&D and associate capabilities.
- Develops and formalizes processes to gather learning data, analyze and communicate training effectiveness and impact.
- Designs, builds and oversees internal Learning and Development programs including identifying performance, skills, and/or competency gaps, making recommendations, and providing solutions to improve business performance and develop future leaders by partnering closely with HR Business Partners and business leaders.
- Partners and collaborates closely with HR Business Partners, Diversity & Inclusion, Talent Acquisition, Talent Rewards and Operations Training.
- Helps managers develop their team members through career pathing.
- Manages the Learning Management System (LMS) and infrastructure for all training and development programs by establishing methods and procedures for delivery, evaluation measurement, and reporting.
- Researches, manages, evaluates, and maximizes the learning and development vendors, including relationships management, usage tracking, budget, employee satisfaction, and impact on the organization’s needs.
- Takes on other duties needed to help drive our Purpose, fulfill our Brand Principles, and abide by our organization’s values.
What you will need:
- A Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development or related field; or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
- Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) certification preferred.
- Five or more years of proven experience as an L&D Manager, training manager, or similar position.
- One or more years of experience in Human Resources.
- Knowledge of learning and development methods.
- Familiarity with e-learning platforms, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and practices.
- Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills.
- Ability to build cross-functional relationships, superb partnering and teaming skills, and the ability to influence others.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high emotional intelligence, and executive presence.
- Experience in partnering with the business, understanding priorities, and translating them into relevant and impactful learning content.
