POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Leadership Development Facilitator is an hourly contractor role that serves as part of PowerMyLearning’s Professional Learning Team and reports to the Program Implementation Manager (PIM).
The Leadership Development Facilitator provides professional learning and program training services to school and district leaders. This work will include facilitation of professional development workshops, one-on-one and small group coaching on instructional leadership best practices identified in the PowerMyLearning. Topics include: Growing instructional leaders, Using data to drive change, The whole child and adults, Creating and sustaining a talent pipeline, and Culturally responsive leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate workshops for school or district leaders
- Prepare for workshops by becoming a subject matter expert in each of our core workshop topics, refining workshop talking points, and practicing facilitation skills.
- Deliver interactive workshops to school leaders remotely or at partner schools nationwide.
- Review survey results from workshops to continuously strengthen facilitation.
- Share feedback from the workshops to inform program development.
- Coach leaders 1:1 and in small groups to develop micro strategies for improvement
- Encourage leaders to set goals, innovate, and apply and extend learning from workshops
- Plan to apply new resources and strategies to existing workstreams
- Analyze artifacts and evidence from classroom instruction
- Reflect on practice
- Communicate your availability for remote and in-person work and reliably attend scheduled commitments.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Passion for PowerMyLearning’s mission and values
- 3+ years of K-12 teaching experience
- 3+ years of school leadership experience as a principal
- Engaging and dynamic presentation skills
- Experience with Culturally Responsive Leadership principles and practices
- Experience with Social Emotional Learning principles and practices
- High degree of comfort in facilitating meetings using Zoom or similar tool
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Proven organizational and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently
Preferred
- Advanced degree in Education or a related field
- 2+ years of experience as a principal supervisor
- Experience coaching/mentoring leaders
- Experience overseeing or leading professional development

COMPENSATION AND LOGISTICS
- Compensation to be earned at a rate of $200/hour and $1200/day for time spent working with and preparing to work with leaders, training and onboarding, and meetings with PowerMyLearning staff
- You are responsible for ensuring that you have necessary tools to provide remote workshops and support, including a quality computer with Microsoft Office Suite installed, stable Internet access supporting video delivery, and an appropriate video background.
