Lead Technical Software Engineer (Security) – up to £66,000– Remote working options available – UK Based Only

Yolk Recruitment Public Sector & Not-for-Profit team has partnered with a highly specialised civil service organisation. The organisation has a unique focus that leads to highly interesting roles.
We are supporting them to recruit a Lead Technical Software Engineer with a specialism in secure coding. This is a role ideal for anyone looking to take a step towards a principal role, who has solid technical ability and a special interest in security and secure coding.
What the Lead Technical Software Engineer will be doing
You will have a role split 80% functioning as a Senior Developer within a delivery team, and 20% of the time maintaining your knowledge base of cyber security and sharing this with the team.
Working within a multidisciplinary team to design and code applications and services using a CI/CD pipeline
Working within .NET to develop these solutions
Deploying the solutions to cloud-based architecture using Azure, AWS, Terraform etc
Actively developing your knowledge base as a Security SME for web application security in .NET including: Authentication/Cryptography/Secure Configuration
What the successful Lead Technical Software Engineer will bring to the team
The successful Technical Software Engineer will be a solid all round Software Engineer with a speciali interest in Security.
Excellent knowledge of Web Application Security and Azure Security best practices including: Key Vaults/Azure AD/Entra ID
Knowledge of Application Threat Modelling, Automated Application Security Testing and Tools such as Burp Suite, Nmap, and Wireshark
Strong coding ability, confident enough in .NET to mentor more junior members of the team
The ability to take ownership of the secure development space and the communication skills to share this with the rest of the team/organisation
