Full-Time LEAD EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
Job Description
LEAD EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
STREETS DIVISION
This is an hourly working 40 hours per week.
Pay Range: $27.92 – $31.91 per hour, depending on qualifications
We’re looking for a Lead Equipment Operator to train, maintain, and entertain—okay, mostly maintain our city’s street and utility infrastructure. You’ll report to the Street Supervisor and lead a lively crew of Equipment Operators while showing those heavy machines who’s boss.
Essential Duties:
- Lead and Train: Scope out the job site, unleash your inner drill sergeant to guide your team through the wild world of infrastructure maintenance. Train them on snow hauling, leaf collection, and how not to crash the plow.
- Operate Equipment: Manhandle a fleet of medium and heavy-duty machines. If it’s bigger than your car and makes noise, you’ll be driving it.
- Record Keeping: Keep us in suspense with your perfectly detailed digital work orders and timely progress reports. Seriously, don’t forget the paperwork!
Requirements:
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years in blood, and sweat in the street and utility infrastructure construction repair and maintenance field. Operating motorized construction or maintenance equipment.
- Valid WI CDL, Class A, with N endorsement—no air brake slackers here!
Skills: Stellar leadership, expert in operating monster machines, ability to wrangle a team, lover of safety protocols, top-tier communicator (yes, even when explaining how to not break things).
Tools & Equipment:
If it can lift, scoop, dig, or plow, you’ll be the maestro of these monstrous marvels.
Physical Demands:
Lift up to 100 pounds like you’re Hulk holding groceries. Stand, walk, climb, sit—become the yoga pose master of maintenance. Taste and smell? Optional but amusing to watch.
Work Environment:
Expect everything from blazing heat to freezing tundra. Embrace the noise and mechanical symphony, and don’t be afraid to get your hands grimy. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Safety hazards? Only if you’re not on your game!
Join us and make the City of Oshkosh smoother, safer, and cooler! Perfect for those who love big machines, bigger challenges, and don’t mind Mother Nature throwing a tantrum every now and then. Strap in, hold tight, and let’s move some dirt!
