Full-Time Lead End-User Engineer

Thompson Coburn, a large full-service law firm with offices in eight (8) cities across the U.S., is in search of a full-time exempt Lead End-User Engineer to join its St. Louis, Chicago, or Dallas office. As a Lead End-User Engineer, you will play a crucial role in all aspects of End-User Computing. This includes providing guidance and leadership to the End-User Computing Team, developing policies and procedures, and collaborating with IT Operations Technicians. This position is eligible for a fully remote work schedule.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and guidance to the end user computing team, including mentoring and training team members.
  • Oversees daily operational end user computing platforms such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Intune, Citrix, and IGEL.
  • Acts as a technical liaison with third party service providers, vendors, and resellers.
  • Coordinates critical incident events with target teams to drive resolution.
  • Contributes to the development of IS policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Strives to exceed customer expectations and delivers a positive customer experience during escalations.
  • Configures and maintains desktop operating systems, end user compute management systems, and software, installs operating system and software upgrades, updates, and patches, and monitors end user compute performance.
  • Reports, demonstrates, and presents solutions to deficiencies to the IS Operations Manager in the support processes and/or technologies.

 

Experience and Education Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree with a major in computer information systems or equivalent degree/experience is required, Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in computer technical support positions and two (2) years of supervisor or lead technician experience is required, preferably in a law firm, or other professional services environment required.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization (CCA-V), or equivalent are desirable or successful completion of the certifications within eighteen (18) months of hire.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience with Microsoft EUC technologies including Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Intune, Windows Update for Business required.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience with supporting a Windows enterprise desktop environment required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience with VDI as an administrator required.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience with Active Directory and GPO administration required.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience with Azure Active Directory as an administrator preferred.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience with enterprise application support and use of enterprise monitoring and management tools preferred.
  • Prior experience working with ITSM programs such as ServiceNow, including design and implementation of workflows, service level reports, and CMDB preferred.
  • Experienced with, and champions ITSM/ITIL service management methodology.
