Digital Solutions & Services at University of Derby is on the lookout for a Lead Data Services Specialist to join our innovative and dynamic team.

Digital Solutions & Services at University of Derby is a hub of innovation, challenging the status quo, and driving excellence in education. Our mission is to transform the way data is utilised and make a meaningful impact on the university’s core functions, from teaching to research and everything in between.

As the Lead Data Services Specialist, you will be a key player in our Data Services team, operating within the Corporate and Academic Systems division. Your role will encompass a diverse range of responsibilities, including:

– Integration of data across multiple disparate business systems

– Maintenance and development of the enterprise data warehouse

– Provision of datasets as a subscription service

In this role, you will lead the charge in the proactive development and maintenance of our data analytics platforms. You’ll collaborate closely with university partners who rely on data, helping to define, shape, and refine analytical reporting requirements for tactical and strategic projects and initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

– Leading the design, testing, and development of robust data planning and data modelling

– Creating data sets that empower decision-makers

– Identifying data sources and interfaces

– Developing user-friendly interfaces for data access
