Full-Time Lead Business Analyst

Job Description

Job Summary:

Contributes to development and maintenance of Administrative Application Systems. Supervises and plans for a major application area including day-to-day maintenance and problem solving as well as coordination of short- and long-range planning, security and auditability of each assigned area system. Performs duties in project leadership and coordination, user interfacing and overall coordination of technical resources. Performs technical problem solving, debugging and problem remediation. Supervises assigned personnel. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science or related field.
  • Four (4) years experience working with visual report development tools and developing code in relational databases and SQL programming.
  • Related work experience may be substituted for education requirement. One (1) year of related work experience can be substituted for one (1) year of education. For example, a candidate with a high school diploma, GED or state recognized equivalent and eight (8) years of related work experience can be eligible to apply.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferably in Computer Science, Business or a related field.
  • Experience programming PeopleSoft application modules and working with Oracle databases management system.
  • Experience in project management and direct employee supervision.
  • Experience working with Human Resources, Finance, General Administration, or Student Administration
  • Experience using object-oriented programming languages in a production environment.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of business systems including client server and web based systems, TCP/IP network protocols, Windows based operating systems and SQL query development.
  • Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills and have a “Customer Focus” attitude and delivery.
  • Ability to effectively engage with team members when issues arise to ensure appropriate communication and develop effective resolution plans.
  • Possess the ability to manage projects, meet deadlines and tackle emergencies and difficult situations.
  • Skilled in project management, problem-solving, analysis, follow-through, influence and persuasion. The ability to function as systems thinker and be solution minded with a global perspective.
  • Excellent analytical and programming skills.
